From electronics and EVs to the fighter jets and Navy vessels that protect our country, copper is at the core of the American economy. A standard data center uses between 5,000 to 15,000 tons of refined copper, while a hyperscale data center is estimated to use up to 50,000 tons.

But each year, over half a million tons of copper scrap and countless tons of e-scrap are exported out of the country, even as almost 50% of American copper consumption is reliant on refined copper imports.

America simply does not have the refining capacity it needs to protect our country and fuel the AI data center revolution. Phoenix Industrial Copper is working to help change this.

At Phoenix Industrial Copper, we seek to refine electronic and copper scrap into high-quality materials through a Metso-patented process that is among the cleanest, most efficient, and most sustainable in the world.

Our recycled metals will ensure that American critical minerals stay home and continue to power our economy forward into the future, while reducing America's dependence on refined copper imports.

Bringing Copper Refining to North Carolina

Recycling

Feedstock will be sourced from sorting and recycling copper scrap and e-scrap

Phoenix Industrial Copper is working to develop a state-of-the-art multi-metal recycling and refining facility in the state of North Carolina capable of refining over 100,000 tons per year.

Our facility will create well-paying jobs for hundreds of full-time employees and produce critical mineral byproducts vital for industrial and military purposes, including cathode copper, silver, nickel, lead, and gold, among others.

Phoenix Industrial Copper is currently finalizing the site location and identifying EPC candidates, and will be partnering with
Metso Corporation, a world-class metal refining engineering and design firm, to carry out a feasibility study and build out the technology and equipment that will be used in the facility.

Smelting will produce anode copper and metal byproducts such as nickel, lead, and gold

An onsite electrorefinery will be used to refine high-purity cathode copper

Phoenix Industrial Copper is led by an experienced management team with strong dealmaking expertise, and is working in partnership with Metso, a world-class engineering and design firm, to develop its North Carolina project.

Technology Provider

Metso, as the undisputed industry leader in advanced copper refining, will be used as the core smelting and refining technology provider for our North Carolina project. Phoenix Industrial Copper is currently in close coordination with them on the pre-feasibility review of this project.
